Cookie policy

Last updated 1 August 2026. This page explains what cookies are, which ones apieventstack.digital uses, and how you can accept or reject them. Read it with our privacy notice.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include localStorage keys. They can remember a preference, keep a page working, or help the publisher understand which pages are used. They are not programmes that browse your other files.

Types we use

Essential. Required for the site to remember your cookie choice and to load pages you request. These do not profile you for advertising. The site cannot remember a “Reject” decision without storing that decision locally.

Analytics. Optional. If you Accept on the banner, we may use a lightweight analytics cookie to see which programme pages are read, in aggregate. If you Reject, we do not set analytics cookies. Rejecting does not block courses, forms, or legal pages.

We do not run advertising networks on this site and do not use cookies to retarget you on other websites.

Cookies table

Name Purpose Duration Provider
apieventstack_cookie_consent Stores whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies so the banner does not reappear every visit. Until you clear site data (localStorage) Apieventstack (first party)
_ae_read Optional analytics: counts visits to course and essay pages in aggregate. Set only after Accept. 6 months Apieventstack (first party)
fonts.gstatic.com / fonts.googleapis.com May set cookies or cache tokens when loading Cormorant Garamond and Source Sans 3. Used to render typography. As set by Google Fonts Google Fonts (third party)

How to manage or disable cookies

On first visit you will see a banner with Accept and Reject, both equally available. Your choice is stored under the brand-prefixed key apieventstack_cookie_consent. To change it later, clear localStorage for this site in your browser and reload; the banner will appear again.

You can also block or delete cookies in browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and others each have a privacy or cookies panel). Blocking all cookies may forget your consent choice and may affect font loading. It will not stop you reading course descriptions or sending an enquiry, though a form success state still depends on a network request to our static mock endpoint.

Third-party cookies

Google Fonts may process requests from your browser when pages load typefaces. Image hosts such as Unsplash serve photographs; they may receive your IP address as part of ordinary HTTP requests. We do not control cookies those third parties might set on their own domains. Live-session and alumni tools, used only after enrolment, have their own cookie policies.

Impact of disabling

Rejecting analytics means we will not measure which essays or syllabus pages you open. Essential storage for consent still works if you allow localStorage. Disabling all site data may show the banner on every visit. Course content, contact forms, and legal pages remain available either way. We will not lock the site behind an “accept to continue” wall.
